Meet Enrico Tronchin video transcript
Visual
The title screen is a headshot of Enrico with the Science for Technological Innovation National Science Challenge logo to the left side of the screen. He is a clean-cut man with glasses who wears a button-down shirt. The words “Introducing ENRICO'' appear below his face. The camera zooms in slightly before we switch to a shot of him opening a metal door as he enters a building. We can see Callaghan Innovation painted into the glass panels on either side. He speaks to the camera from a chair with a white wall behind him and a brick wall to the side. The words Enrico Tronchin are overlaid in the bottom right corner. We switch to a shot of Enrico, from behind him over his shoulder, as he uses a computer with two monitors. One has a video on it of a hand using laboratory equipment under a green light and the other has a text document open. He then talks again in the white room to the camera while the words “Commercialisation & Development Manager” appear below and to the right.

Speaker 1 Enrico Tronchin:
Kia ora koutou katoa. Ko Enrico toku ingoa. Hi, my name is Enrico. I'm an innovation agent with over a decade of experience. My role at SfTI is the Commercialization Development Manager. I'm here to help the SfTI community to achieve the goal of growing New Zealand's economy and prosperity by connecting SfTI project teams and research outcomes to New Zealand's commercialization system.

Next, Enrico talks to someone off-screen, while we see the busy open-plan office behind him. He nods at what the person off-screen says. He looks at the camera, starts to walk away and then returns to the table for a moment longer.

Speaker 1 Enrico Tronchin: I can help researchers understand the commercialisation process and craft the strategy. This is about knowing what to do, and when. I can also help researchers get in touch with useful people, whether they are in tech transfer offices and companies and industry, or within local and central government agencies that assist with innovation.
As technology enthusiasts, we obsess over how things work and what it is that they can do. And what this means is that we tend to leave the impact of our work to chance, but for us to achieve the SfTI mission, we need to cultivate that obsession with an industry, market, or customer problem.

In the next scene, he uses a key card to get through a double door within the office. We see two of the same shots from before, Enrico talks to the off-screen person, and then he works with the two monitors. All the previous scenes are separated with a short scene of Enrico as he speaks to the camera in the white room. He then walks through a door from a hallway into the large open plan office. He talks to a man wearing a lanyard at a long wooden table in the office.

Speaker 1 Enrico Tronchin:
Give me a call, or drop me an email and let's have a conversation.

We then see Enrico as he sits at a table in front of a brick wall with a laptop in front of him. He smiles at the camera and then proceeds to cover his face with his hand while he laughs.

Speaker 1 Enrico Tronchin: When I started out, I was a seaweed biologist. That was a conversation killer. My friends used to call me Dr. Seaweed, but that was a long time ago.
