2019 KiwiNet Awards Finalist Bruce MacDonald

The Kiwinet Awards celebrate heroes in research commercialisation. SfTI Deputy Director, Professor Bruce MacDonald of University of Auckland was a finalist for the Baldwins Researcher Entrepreneur Award.

Celebrating those individuals and organisations whose best practice approach is changing the innovation landscape in New Zealand; Bruce was nominated and made a finalist for revolutionising horticulture and healthcare with cutting edge robotic technologies. Kiwinet describes the Baldwins Researcher Entrepreneur Award as “an award category as one that recognises an entrepreneurial researcher who has made outstanding contributions to business innovation or has created innovative businesses in New Zealand through technology licencing, start-up creation or by providing expertise to support business innovation.”

The winners were announced at an awards dinner on August 7, and while we are disappointed our Bruce did not win, we are stoked to know he shares such talented and awe-inspiring company. Congratulations to Kiwinet for such an amazing event, and to all the finalists and winners, we had a great night in your limelight! Check out the winners on the Kiwinet awards page.
