Taking up the Challenge

Hard work, a genuine belief in our mission and strong commitment from all 13 partner organisations have been key to the early success of the Challenge, says Director Margaret Hyland.

It has been a busy few months since the Challenge was officially launched by Minister for Science and Innovation Steven Joyce late last year. Since then the team has established key governance functions and most importantly has begun research across the Challenge portfolios.

"We’ve been hard at work assembling research teams – who I am pleased to say have been making great strides in undertaking initial research and connecting with industry – and putting in place the less exciting but necessary behind the scenes administrative structures.

"The good news is that we have everything in place now.

“Now that our organisational structure is in place we’re able to pick up the pace when it comes to our research programmes. It’s exciting to see that research is well underway,” says Margaret.
